The Children’s Parade Brighton – All New Inclusive Experience

Posted on

For this years Children’s Parade, Carousel and Same Sky are partnering to create a new type of inclusive experience.

We are running a small pilot project this year, a taster of what we’d like to do in the future.

It’s for people who’d like to join in with the children’s parade and be a part of this event but find the parade a bit too challenging an environment for any number of reasons. ..oh and its free to come too!

In the Foyer Bar at the Brighton Dome between 10am and 11.45 on Saturday the 5th of May we are inviting a small group of people to come a test  our new service.

  • We will have a live stream of videos from people who are in the parade so we can can see what’s going on.
  • We will have earphones that you can put on and experience the sounds of the parades
  • We will have an art activity that you can dip in and out of as a change of focus and so you have made something linked to the parade.
  • You can stay for the duration or pop by for as long as you want to,

Refreshments will be available.

The service will be delivered on the day by Carousel and will have a staff compliment of 3 staff members and 2 to 3 learning disabled artists who will be delivering the art activity.

This safe space in this pilot model will be a calm intimate experience and places will be limited and on a first come first serve basis, so please contact us as soon as possible if you’d like to come by emailing: sarah@samesky.co.uk

Please give us the name of the person that would like to attend and the names of carers/parents who will coming as well in a support role. We will then tell you how to best access the building, bearing in mind the road closures etc due to the nearby passage of the parade.

Best wishes

Sarah and the team at Same Sky
