Event Information

The Brighton Festival Children’s Parade is a free spectator event. Held on the first Saturday in May, opening The Brighton Festival every year.

The parade starts at 10.30am in Kensington Street and winds down to Madeira Drive on the seafront by way of Jubilee Street, New Road, North Street, East Street and Grand Junction Road, finishing at approximately 1pm.

Parents and pupils should receive instructions through their school.

Same Sky’s policy is that the event will go ahead, regardless of the weather, as long as it’s safe. However, we reserve the right to cancel the event on safety grounds in the case of extreme weather conditions.

Road closures

6am-3pm – Madeira Drive  &  Dukes Mound

8.30am- 12pm – Pelham St, Trafalgar St (Whitecross St to A259 York Place) & Pelham Sq

8.4am- 12pm – Sydney St, Gloucester St (Sydney St to St Georges Mews), Gloucester Rd (Kensington St to Cheltenham Pl) & Kensington St

10.20am- 12.45pm – North Rd (Tichbourne St to A23 Marlborough Pl), Jubilee St & Church St (A23 Marlborough Pl to Bond St)

10.30am – 12.45pm – New Rd, North St, Castle Sq & East St

10.30am – 1pm – A259 Grand Junction (ROLLING ROAD CLOSURE)
